Late Diagnosed

Virtual ACT-Informed Group for Autistic Adults Navigating a New Diagnosis

This 4-session virtual group supports autistic adults who are newly diagnosed or newly identifying as autistic and are processing what this shift means for their identity, relationships, and daily life. Grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), the group offers a compassionate, neuroaffirming space to explore self-understanding, unlearn internalized stigma, and build connection with others on a similar journey.

What we’ll explore:

  • Understanding autism and neurodiversity in adulthood through shared stories

  • Clarifying personal values beyond neurotypical expectations

  • Masking, unmasking, and double empathy using ACT choice points

  • Autistic self-regulation through stimming, sensory tools, and special interests

  • Recognizing burnout and building sustainable supports

  • Self-advocacy, communication tools (DEAR), and strengthening allyship

  • Exploring next steps based on values and identity growth
