Megan Watt, M.Mus., B.A. Hon. Psych., B.Mus. (She/Her)

Megan has recently transitioned from the field of music to psychology, joining Flourish Health Services psychology team in June of 2022. As Manager of Psychological Services, Megan helps to coordinate the objectives, initiatives, and programs for the delivery of psychological services to clients. She also assists clinicians in test administration, scoring, and report writing, ensuring that the assessment process runs smoothly from the initial consult to the final feedback.

After obtaining her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from Western University, Megan’s passion for piano pedagogy led her to completing her Honours Degree in Psychology from York University. Megan’s teaching framework closely aligns with the client centred approach and is what has led Megan to her current position at Flourish.

With her musical background, Megan’s previous research has surrounded the intersecting area of creativity and mental illness, along with music cognition. Coming into the world of psychology from another field has instilled an interdisciplinary approach that colours all aspects of her career, and is a large part of why she loves Flourish as much as she does.

When she is not at work, you will most likely find Megan going for a jog, biking (always with a helmet!), or talking somebody’s ear off about growing up in the maritimes! But do not let the jogging fool you, as Megan has the ability to eat an entire bag of Doritos to herself.
