Nadine Mahmassani, M.Sc. (She/Her)
Nadine is a Psychometric Assistant with a background in developmental psychology and a strong belief in affirming and inclusive care for neurodivergent individuals. She holds a Master’s degree in Applied Developmental Psychology from Queen’s University Belfast and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Lebanese American University. Since 2016, she has worked with children, adolescents, and families across the UK and Kuwait, and she’s excited to bring her experience to Canada and be part of a team that shares her values.
Before joining Flourish, Nadine worked as an Assistant Psychologist within the NHS in the UK, where she had the opportunity to take part in the National Autism Trainer Programme; a training co-produced and co-delivered with autistic individuals. This experience gave her a whole new perspective on what it means to support neurodivergent people meaningfully and respectfully, and it deepened her commitment to co-production and client-centred care. Nadine also championed making the therapeutic environment more inclusive and welcoming, encouraging young people to bring pets - whether cats, dogs, or even guinea pigs - to sessions. She spent time creating and flying paper planes, and learning to play chess with clients, all to ensure that the space felt comfortable and joyful, especially within settings that might otherwise feel clinical or challenging.
At Flourish, Nadine provides behind-the-scenes support to the assessment team, helping to keep the process organized, thoughtful, and smooth for individuals and families. Although her work isn’t always client-facing, she is dedicated to ensuring that neurodiversity-affirming care is reflected in every part of the process. Nadine is passionate about making psychological support more accessible and respectful, and she enjoys working alongside clinicians and families to create spaces where everyone feels understood and valued.
Outside of work, you’ll often find Nadine crocheting, baking, relaxing in a park or binge-watching her favourite Netflix shows (with some tea and a slice of cake of course!).
