First Steps
A Dating and Relationships Group for Neurodivergent Young Adults (Ages 17-24)
First Steps is an eight week in person psychology led group for neurodivergent young adults who want support with dating, early relationships, and building healthy connections. Many autistic and ADHD young adults describe dating as confusing, draining, or filled with hidden rules. This group creates a supportive space to explore those challenges, learn concrete skills, and understand what dating can look like in a way that feels real and manageable.
The focus is on practical tools and self understanding rather than scripts or forced social performance.
Participants will learn how to :
Identify their own relationship values
Understand attraction
Communicate clearly
Set boundaries
Plan dates that match their sensory and social needs.
Sessions include teaching, discussion, and guided activities that help build confidence and reduce anxiety around dating.
The group is neuroaffirming and welcomes all genders, orientations, and relationship goals. Whether participants are unsure where to start, curious about how to read cues, or hoping to feel more grounded in early relationship steps, First Steps offers a place to learn and practice with support.
