Own It
Boundaries and Safety for Teens (Ages 13–17)
Own It is an eight-week small-group series that blends psychoeducation, discussion, and practice to help teens navigate safety, consent, and assertive communication in real-world situations. Own It is a skills-based safety and empowerment program. It helps participants understand what safety feels like in their bodies, how to name boundaries, and how to act when something does not feel right. This may include situations such as a pushy friend, an online message, or a confusing power dynamic.
Core Learning Themes:
Understanding consent, power, and autonomy
Recognizing early warning cues (physical, emotional, and digital)
Communicating “no,” “stop,” or “I need space” in authentic ways
Spotting manipulation, gaslighting, or boundary violations
Online and digital citizenship (DMs, group chats, posting boundaries)
Building a personal Safety Network of trusted adults and peers
Practising real-life safety scripts through role-play and scenario work
Each session includes grounding exercises, visual frameworks, and optional journaling prompts. Participants rehearse skills in a supportive environment that respects neurodivergent communication differences.
