Pencil Power Group

Pencil Power is a 4-week crash course small group program which works on improving handwriting legibility. Incorporating the evidence-based Handwriting Without Tears program, children will learn capital letter formation, page organization, and develop their fine motor skills.

This group is designed for children in grades 1-2, who want to improve their handwriting legibility. The goal is to provide a strengths-based and supportive environment, while incorporating the evidence-based Handwriting Without Tears program. We aim to: 

  • Improve handwriting legibility through structured practice of capital letter formations using the Handwriting Without Tears approach.

  • Develop foundational fine motor skills and hand strength needed for efficient pencil control.

  • Learn strategies for proper page organization, including spacing, alignment, and sizing of letters.

  • Increase confidence and independence with written work in school tasks.

  • Practice handwriting skills in a fun, supportive small-group environment that encourages engagement and peer learning.

  • Fee: $500 total (eligible for insurance coverage under occupational therapy).
