Barbro Boungou, M.S.W., R.S.W. (She/Her)
Barbro is a Registered Social Worker who earned both her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from York University. She specializes in working with children, youth, and young adults across clinical, community, non-profit and school-based settings, supporting individuals navigating a range of challenges including mood and anxiety disorders, emotional dysregulation, neurodivergence, interpersonal relationships, identity, and stress management.
Her practice is grounded in anti-oppressive, strength-based, client-centred, and trauma-informed care. She draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), DBT tools and identity- and culturally responsive approaches, tailoring her work to each client’s unique needs and experiences.
Barbro is passionate about creating a safe, affirming, and collaborative space where young people feel heard and understood. She hopes to support clients in developing self-awareness, strengthening coping skills, navigating relationships and life transitions, and building confidence in who they are and who they are becoming.
