Craig Kamath, H.B.Sc., M.A., M.Psy. (In Progress). (He/Him)
Craig is a student psychotherapist, currently pursuing a Master of Psychology degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Adler Graduate Professional School. With an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto and a Master of Arts degree in Psychology (specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychology) from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Craig has a strong foundation for clinical practice with different populations.
As part of his previous master's work, Craig has completed a research project studying the relationship between unhealthy social media use and depression in adolescents, creating a workshop for parents to help their children create healthy social media habits. In his current master's work, Craig is expanding on his previous research to determine how different parenting styles mitigate or exacerbate the negative effects of adolescent social media use.
Craig's clinical interests include anxiety, depression, ADHD, and autism in children and adolescents, specifically within sociocultural and contemporary contexts (i.e., social media, AI). Through his academic and professional experiences, Craig has developed the competencies needed to work effectively within these areas.
Craig has a long and diverse range of experiences working with vulnerable populations, from working with families to create support plans for children with ASD and ADHD, to improving psychiatric patients' healthcare experience during their hospital stay, and even collaborating with older adults in long-term care facilities to improve their quality of life.
Through his work at Flourish, Craig aspires to foster healthy relationships with clients, create a safe environment for neurodiverse individuals, and practice therapy in a way that improves wellbeing and develops one's sense of purpose.
Outside of his academic and professional life, Craig enjoys travelling, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family.
